I have always been a goal setter. Most of these were short-term goals and long-term goals. Most of these revolved around very common issues. Money and Weight!! I’m pretty sure that most if not all of you have set these types of goals. These are New years resolution type goals. Very few of us keep these types of goals.
My attitude now is in creating very short-term goals; such as one day goals. Usually this goal is how can I improve myself today. This is a new experience for me. I had said previously that I always was looking down the road. The problem was that I was and am missing the most important things that were right in front of me. My family, my own mental health, my own physical health, the tremendous friends that I have. I was always worrying what will happen next, and it usually was in the negative.
Writing down daily, weekly, and monthly goals are the first and most import steps in goal setting. Many studies have proven that writing goals down and reviewing them daily lead to much more successful achievement of these goals.
So, my goals are today to spend time with my family, exercise to help my physical state to help my OT and to read inspirational messages to keep improving my mind. Tomorrow these goals may change or they may not. The important thing is that you keep setting goals. Remember to live today like it was your last one, because nobody knows what will happen tomorrow and you can’t go back and change what you did yesterday.
What goals will you set today? How will you live in the moment and not let life just pass you by. There are amazing things all around you, take a second soak them all in. To those of you us that are celebrating Palm Sunday, take a few moments to think about what Holy week in the Catholic church really means.
